Welcome to my world of vibrant landscapes! I’m Charlie Roberts, an artist inspired by coastal wildlife and the natural beauty of the Lowcountry — pelicans in flight, open skies, and radiant sunsets brought to life in acrylic and oil on panel and canvas.

Growing up outdoors, I learned to capture fleeting moments — a bird mid-flight, shifting light on water, dusk’s glow — with bold color and expressive brushwork. My subjects range from coastal scenes and wildlife to garden florals — zinnias, irises, and other blooms rendered in rich, sun-warmed color — each piece crafted for collectors, designers, or anyone who cherishes the outdoors.

My process blends the traditional and the digital. I often start with Procreate sketches or AI-generated reference studies to work out composition and light before ever picking up a brush, then paint from life or photographs to keep every hue and gesture authentic. It’s a heartfelt but precise way of working — technology in service of the painting, never replacing it.

I love sharing the stories behind my work — recent pieces like a zinnia bouquet, “Petals and Pigment,” and an ongoing brown pelican series. Through my blog and newsletter, I offer a peek into my studio and new work fresh from the easel. I also take commissions, including memorial pet portraits.
