Charlie Roberts — Modern Impressionist Landscapes
Charlie was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he developed an early appreciation for art and design.
After earning a degree in design from the University of Louisiana, Charlie began his career in Houston, Texas. Five years later, he returned to Louisiana and opened a contemporary home accessories shop, which he operated for fifteen years.
In 1987, Charlie opened a Sylvan Learning Center in Columbia, South Carolina, serving as owner and Center Director until selling the business in 2006. Retirement brought him a wonderful gift—the time to return to his artistic pursuits.
“Painting continues to open my eyes to the beauty around me. I find myself looking more closely at the shapes, changing light, colors, and textures of everyday life. It’s amazing how much more you see when you really take the time to look.”
Charlie’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries in Charleston, SouthCarolina, Pawleys Island, South Carolina and Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Today, Charlie lives and paints in Pinehurst, North Carolina. His modern impressionist landscapes celebrate light, color, and atmosphere, capturing not simply what a place looks like, but how it feels.
For Charlie, painting is an ongoing journey of discovery, offering endless opportunities to explore and share the beauty of the world around him.
